STEVEN TEAGUE
Former Gucci model and versatile dynamic bass baritone, Steven Teague has a powerful, resonant, rich sound. He was the winner of the Metropolitan Opera Finals in 1987 and has sung: Mephistopheles in “Faust”, Jupiter in “Orpheus and the Underworld, Banco in “MacBeth”, Escamillo in “Carmen” and Colline in “La Boheme.”
Audiences from coast to coast have been enamored with handsome, dynamic, bass-baritone Steve Teague. The uniquely gifted and powerfully resonant sound of one of America’s leading vocalists, has won over the hearts of audiences in countless entertainment venues throughout the world. With his exuberant, masculine voice and overwhelming theatrical stage presence, Mr. Teague is reminiscent of the bold classic baritones like Howard Keel and Robert Goulet.
At a young age raised in North Carolina, Steve Teague was surrounded by the arts and music. His mother, an opera singer with the American Opera Company, introduced Steve to the world of arts and music. In addition, his three brothers and sister as well, were born into the world of arts and music. All of them eventually took ballroom dancing and singing lessons along with athletics.
Directly out of high school, the young man began pursuing his dreams at the Julliard School of Music in NYC. From there, he was recruited with a scholarship to attend Oral Roberts University in Tulsa, Oklahoma. It was here that he began his professional singing career, becoming a gospel singer in nationally televised productions with many celebrities of the gospel world.
The ensuing years found Mr. Teague traveling the world singing gospel music. Following this stint, he furthered his studying by earning a BA at Florida Atlantic University in Boca Raton, Florida. He soon moved to NYC to further his professional career with Broadway.
Famed Broadway director, Hal Prince, discovered the young man’s strong, masculine voice, and cast him in his first Broadway production, EVITA. He eventually joined the National Touring company of this highly acclaimed show, touring the U.S. in EVITA for 3 years.
Regional theaters throughout the U.S. have featured Mr. Teague in principal roles in productions of THE PIRATES OF PENZANCE, OKLAHOMA, and MAN OF LA MANCHA to name a few. Continuing his professional performing career, he gained acclaim as the winning California Vocalist of the Metropolitan Opera Finals, thus adding many operas to his repetoire from CARMEN to MACBETH.
East Coast audiences, for several years, additionally witnessed this fine baritone as the principal emcee/singer for producer Calvin Gilmore’s SERENADE & CAROLINA OPERA in Myrtle Beach,SC. Since leaving this production, he is still in high demand, returning to the SERENADE for special guest appearances.
Steve Teague’s international following has grown with his extensive work on major cruise lines. He has been a headliner around the world for over a decade, performing for CUNARD, CRYSTAL, SILVER SEAS, REGENT, CELEBRITY, NCL, SEABORNE, and HOLLAND AMERICA, thus making him one of the most sought after vocalists on the high seas!

Having become a commercial success, as well as a model for GUCCI, Mr. Teague has also been seen in commercial endorsements and campaigns for NOKIA, WRANGLER JEANS and FOSSIL WATCHES to name a few.
Currently, he is developing a new “one-man” show for Broadway, about the great Bass-Baritones of Broadway.
